Collaboration and Committees
Shared Governance
The SW/CM Department participates in the Magnet Model of Shared Governance and utilizes this model to increase collaboration and innovation in efforts to provide the best care for our patients. We achieve this by operating a unit-based council who have a voice and impact on policy development, performance improvement, patient outcomes, work environment, and staff satisfaction. Our aim is to improve all aspects of our practice. The Council is comprised of staff members from all department disciplines including Social Workers, RN Case Managers, Support Liaisons and Transitions of Care. Some of our recent projects include participating in the development of a clinical ladder program, a preceptor program, and a meaningful staff feedback program. We distribute a monthly newsletter to keep the department informed. Our achievements result from the strategies used to increase empowerment and participation of staff in evidence-based decision-making affecting their work.
