Hospital named to U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll

STANFORD, CALIF. 鈥� Stanford Hospital today was named to the top 10 on the U.S. News & World Report鈥檚 Honor Roll of the best hospitals in the nation. The ranking, which reflects the hospital鈥檚 spot among the top 1 percent of more than 5,000 hospitals surveyed, is based on outstanding performance across multiple areas of care, with factors such as quality, patient safety, and reputation. Stanford Hospital was also ranked in 13 medical specialties and the number one hospital in the San Jose metropolitan area.

Each year, U.S. News & World Report gathers and analyzes data from more than 5,000 medical centers and surveys more than 30,000 physicians to rank hospitals in various adult specialties. Stanford Hospital was ranked in 13 medical specialties for 2017-18: cancer; cardiology & heart surgery; diabetes & endocrinology; ear, nose & throat; gastroenterology & GI surgery; geriatrics; gynecology; nephrology; neurology & neurosurgery; orthopedics; pulmonology; rheumatology; and urology.

The听U.S. News听Best Hospitals survey separately ranks America's top children鈥檚 hospitals. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford achieved rankings in all ten pediatric specialties for 2017-18. It is the only children鈥檚 hospital in Northern California to be ranked in all 10 specialties in this year鈥檚 survey.
