Ask the Heart Expert: Dr. Tremmel Discusses Heart Care for Women
09.20.2021
ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ is one of the few centers in the country to offer heart services specifically designed for women, Women's Heart Health program led by Dr. Tremmel. Women experience angina (chest pain) more frequently than men, often without blocked arteries. We routinely perform additional testing to diagnose the conditions more likely to cause angina in women. This information guides more effective treatments.
Women may also experience a heart attack without blocked arteries. Some people have the opposite, 100% blocked arteries, called chronic occlusions. Stanford Medicine experts have the skills and experience to handle these more complex cases.
