Strategic Plan
Strategic planning enables an organization to look into the future in an orderly and systematic way, ensuring that a hospital remains relevant and responsive to patient and community needs and provides a clear and consistent organizational focus.
It provides a game plan for monitoring progress, results, and impact.
At ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (SHC), the Nursing and Patient Care Services (PCS) engage in the strategic planning process.Ìý
Development: The Nursing and PCS Strategic Plan is developed by leaders at all levels and with representation from all Nursing & PCS departments. The plan is developed utilizing the OGSM Framework (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures) to identify the appropriate scope, priorities, and measures. The plan promotes alignment of individual departmental strategies to organizational strategic and operational priorities.Ìý
Visibility: The strategic plan is displayed in the nursing and patient care services departments for staff and patients to view and interact with daily, promoting staff knowledge and alignment with organizational priorities and deliverables.ÌýÌý
Sustainability: Regular progress updates empower all Nursing & PCS contributors to engage with strategic improvements in an informed and impactful way. Nursing staff and leaders can interact with the progress updates through an electronic dashboard. The content of the plan is reviewed and updated on an annual cadence.
