Your family's health is your number one priority. Our family medicine team cares for people of all ages, including newborns through seniors. The Stanford family medicine doctors get to know you and your loved ones, and provide convenient and excellent care close to you.
Abnormal results or those of an urgent nature will be communicated to you as soon as these results are available by phoning you directly or, if not readily available by phone, via a MyHealth message for those of you who have active accounts.
All normal lab and test results will be communicated to you as soon as we are able. For those of you who have active MyHealth accounts, results will be sent electronically within two business days of physicians' receiving these results. If you do not have an active MyHealth account, you should receive the results in the mail within two weeks of physicians' receiving these results.
Routine prescription renewals:ÌýPlease contact your pharmacy directly and they will contact us through their electronic link or via fax.
New prescriptions:ÌýContact your doctor/practice coordinator directly.
Please keep in mind that it takes up to three business days to fill prescriptions.
Stanford Family Medicine does not renew routine prescriptions or narcotic prescription after-hours. For routine prescription refills, please contact your pharmacy.

EMERGENCY CARE
Emergency room visits outside clinic hours no longer require pre-authorization by your doctor, by California State Law. Make sure you inform your physician within 24 hours following your visit.
Be aware of your health plan limitations - unless you require 911 emergency transport, some health plans require you to obtain all after-hours emergencyÌýcare at Stanford ER if you have a primary care doctor at Stanford.
A physician is on-call after hours to coordinate any emergency care needs which arise after-hours and can be reached at the 24 hour number: 650-498-9000.
Our clinical pharmacists collaborate with your doctor to address your health needs. For certain health care conditions, they can order necessary lab tests, start, adjust, or stop medications, and provide thorough education. They focus on important topics such as taking medications correctly, understanding potential side effects, recognizing how different medications and health conditions interact, and considering the cost of treatments. Their goal is to help you live well and feel your best!
Living with diabetes can be a journey of empowerment, and our Diabetes Care Program, recognized by the American Diabetes Association, is here to support you. Your provider can refer you to this program, which offers Diabetes Self-Management Training as a valuable health benefit for individuals diagnosed with Diabetes.
