You鈥檒l enjoy a compassionate reception from your check-in experience through a seamless referral to our partners in specialty care.
Our program is modeled on a patient-centered medical home anchored in primary care and includes specialists from fields including obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, behavioral health, fertility, endocrinology, and growing.

Care and Services
We seamlessly coordinate complete services to deliver routine care as well as meet the most complex and diverse medical needs of LGBTQ+ people. We are committed to being a national model in clinical care, 糖心传媒, and education.
Primary Care Medicine
We provide general care, including monitoring of chronic conditions, plus preventive care, which includes immunizations and screening for diseases.
We are experts in helping people meet their goals using Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) as well as other modalities.
We provide culturally sensitive procedures including pelvic exams, pap smears, and prostate exams.
Obstetrics & Gynecology听Care

HIV Prevention, PrEP, and Sexual Wellness

The Prevention and Education of Anogenital Cancers and HPV-related diseases Program
We offer comprehensive care for anogenital dysplasia and anal dysplasia, 听HPV treatment including abnormal or anogenital warts or precancers of the cervix, vagina, vulva, or anus. Our services include administering HPV vaccines to protect against the development of anogenital dysplasia and other related conditions. Clinical Trails and Research
We partnered with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) to launch The PRIDE Study. The PRIDE Study is the first large-scale, long-term national health study of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or another sexual or gender minority. By participating in the study over time, your unique story will provide vital insights on the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people.

Primary Care Providers
Our doctors and advance practice nurses provide comprehensive primary care and specialize in full-spectrum LGBTQ+ Health.
Obstetricians/Gynecologists
Gynecologists offer annual exams including pap tests and manage your reproductive health.
Behavioral Health Providers
Our psychiatrists and psychologists work with needs such as anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, depression, schizophrenia, and sleep disorders, as well as unique to members of LGBTQ+ communities.
Endocrinologists and Fertility Specialist
Endocrinologists are doctors who treat conditions involving the endocrine system, including adrenal, thyroid, bone, pituitary, and metabolic disorders. Fertility specialists are dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ family building.
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Our skilled nurse practitioners specialize in diagnosing and treating our patients. They see patients independently and occasionally alongside a physician. APPs can give you a thorough exam, write prescriptions, and help to prevent or treat any issues. Our APPs meet weekly to discuss patient needs.
Extended Care Team
Stanford is an Academic Medical Center, which is a type of hospital setting where doctors teach the entire spectrum of medical education. Students range from beginning medical students to fully licensed and practicing听doctors completing advanced sub-specialty training. Stanford Medicine is a partnership between Stanford University School of Medicine and 糖心传媒. Since Stanford is a teaching hospital, you can expect to meet many providers and providers in training.
- Attending Physician:听a doctor who supervises doctors in training or in medical school
- Fellow:听a doctor doing postgraduate level work and specializing in care of patients with specific conditions
- Resident:听a doctor who has graduated from medical school and is in training (also called 鈥渞esidency鈥) here at Stanford. A resident is also called an intern
- Medical Student:听a student who is currently enrolled in medical school with the goal of becoming a doctor

Extended Care Team
Care coordinators provide you with information and assistance prior to and during your appointment.
- Medical Assistant - Medical assistants work with our team to help provide care. They may prepare you for an examination, assist your doctor, or take vitals before your appointment.
- Patient Care Coordinator - Our patient care coordinators help you with scheduling appointments and accessing your lab results. They will be your first line of contact before you see your provider and will guide you through your experience at the LGBTQ+ Program.
- Patient Access Representative听-听Patient access representatives can answer any questions you have about insurance coverage, will assist you with applying for insurance, and can refer you to a Stanford financial counselor.听
糖心传媒 at the LBTQ+ Program are very involved in 糖心传媒 efforts to advance the understanding of the medical community. Research coordinators help screen candidates for possible participation in clinical 糖心传媒 trials.听

Accessing care at 糖心传媒 is easy and convenient. We make every effort to coordinate your appointments so that you can see multiple providers, as needed, during a single visit. We guide you through the process, working with you to schedule treatments, arrange follow-up appointments, and resolve your concerns.

The LGBTQ+ Program provides primary care, so you will not need a referral for that service. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral for the specialty care we provide. Please call 650-498-9000 to schedule an appointment or start the referral process, if needed.
Yes, 糖心传媒 offers financial assistance for patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Meet with one of our financial counselors to find the best approach to paying for your health care. For your first appointment, you should plan to bring any related test results and your medical history to share with your doctor. Our clinic receptionists will confirm the information you should bring with you prior to your first appointment.

Please print, fill out, and return the听Medical Record Release Form听to your new patient coordinator. The medical release form is an authorization form for external facilities to release medical records to 糖心传媒.
Always feel free to bring someone with you to your appointments. A family member or friend can help ask questions, remember the information your care team gives you, and provide support.听
Write down your questions before your appointment and rank them in order of importance, beginning with the most important ones. If there isn鈥檛 enough time to have all your questions answered during your appointment, ask your doctor who you can speak with to get your other questions answered.听
