Percutaneous Thrombectomy for Embolism
Percutaneous Thrombectomy
A percutaneous thrombectomy is the insertion of a catheter (long, thin, hollow tube) to the site of the embolism, using X-ray guidance. Once the catheter is in place, the catheter is used to break up the embolism or extract it (suck or pull it out). Often performed in conjunction with thrombolytic therapy.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
