What Causes Dermatomyositis?

Researchers do not yet know exactly what causes dermatomyositis. They are investigating possible connections between this disease and cancer, autoimmune disease, genetic causes or infections.

Dermatomyositis is one of many inflammatory myopathies. Other types of inflammatory myopathies include:

  • Polymyositis
  • Juvenile dermatomyositis
  • Inclusion body myositis

Clinical Trials
