Stages of Hodgkin lymphoma
Diagnostic tests can show what stage of Hodgkin lymphoma you have, which can affect what treatment is effective.
There are 4 stages of Hodgkin lymphoma:
- Stage I: The lymphoma is limited to one lymph node region or to a single body organ
- Stage II: The lymphoma is in 2 lymph node regions (both neck and armpit, or both sides of the groin) or in one organ and surrounding lymph nodes
- Stage III: The lymphoma has been found above and below your diaphragm (the muscle you use to breathe) or may be in your spleen (next to your stomach)
- Stage IV: The lymphoma has spread to lymph nodes and organs in multiple areas of the body such as the liver, lungs, or bones
