What is HIPEC?
Risks and Side Effects of HIPEC
A benefit ofÌýHIPEC therapyÌýis that it focuses high-doseÌýchemotherapyÌýto areas affected by the cancer itself. Unlike conventional chemotherapy, HIPEC minimizesÌýmedicationÌýexposure to the rest of the body. That means the common side effectsÌýofÌýchemotherapy – like hair loss, nausea, diarrhea, and changes to the skin or nails – may be avoided.
